Hate Motive Denied in Gay Man’s Death

Lawyers for two teens admitted in a West Palm Beach, Fla., court that the defendants beat a gay man to death, but they claimed it was not because of his sexual orientation. Bryan Donahue, 17, and Billy Dodge, 18, are on trial for allegedly beating and kicking Steven Goedereis, 29, in front of a convenience store last year. The teenagers are charged with second-degree murder.
