A Line to Get In (and It’s Not Even Open Yet)

There’s so much excitement surrounding the opening of the Play Room (the new name of the old Probe), a guest list had to be instituted during the day (!). Promoters, looky-loos and the like were jamming up the works, getting in the way of those doing the renovation. The Highland Avenue club officially opens June 10, with a big “Austin Powers” shin-diggity. Folks can expect a new Thursday night promo beginning June 17 brought to you by Brent Bolthouse, Michael Sutton and Hartwell, who is relinquishing his Thursday night reign at 360 Restaurant in Hollywood. And, according to brothers/owners Art and Alan Davis, the club did a test run of its Saturday night after-hours gay dance party last week and the turnout was enormous. Also looking flavorful is Cherry’s reopening at its new home, June 11.
