The City Council on Tuesday unanimously approved redevelopment plans for the Gateway area. The project--which covers a 300-acre area in the northeast corner of the city--came before the council last month, but was sent back to city planners after council members complained about several sign-related issues. Some of the discussion centered on including business names on some signs, and the shape, the size and location of freeway signs. Those complaints were reflected in the final version of the plan, which will go into effect in 30 days.
