Occidental: Another View

Share

Since the multicultural agenda was instituted at Occidental, the college has not, until very recently, improved in anything other than diversity (“Great Expectations,” by Carol Lynn Mithers, May 2). The college’s budget has been in crisis for a long time, its facilities (not including the new student center) have been deteriorating, its athletic success has declined and it has fallen significantly in overall nationwide rankings in almost every category.

Conservative and even moderate-conservative views are not represented in any department, and the curriculum is totally based on left-wing ideology. For Mithers to say that Slaughter and Occidental do not tolerate anti-white sentiments is not entirely accurate. White males, Christianity and traditional institutions and values are consistently attacked both at campus rallies and in the classroom, and campus politics are fraught with slander, threats and ideological bigotry.
