Procom Looking for Auditor After Andersen Firm Resigns

Santa Ana-based Procom Technology Inc. said Monday that its outside auditor, Arthur Andersen LLP, resigned abruptly.

Procom officials said they received a letter from the accounting firm on June 1 in which Arthur Andersen said it had gone through an analysis of Andersen’s clients, after which they chose to resign from the company.

Procom officials expressed surprise and disappointment at the decision, noting that there had been no unresolved disagreements regarding accounting principles or practices, financial statement disclosure, or auditing scope or procedure.

Arthur Andersen officials did not return phone calls seeking comment. Arthur Andersen had been the auditor for the data storage technology developer for three years. Procom is searching for a replacement.
