Oracle Buys Software

Oracle Corp. said it acquired the assets and technology of closely held Thinking Machines Corp., a pioneer of sophisticated software that seeks to predict customer behavior and buying patterns. Terms of the transaction, which is complete, were not disclosed.

Oracle said that it would begin selling Thinking Machines’ Darwin as a stand-alone product immediately and will integrate it into its products in coming quarters.
