Construction is expected to begin this week on Haven Gateway Centre, a $55-million industrial and distribution center in Ontario.

The 1.5-million-square-foot complex will rise on an 88-acre parcel adjacent to the Pomona Freeway at Haven Avenue. It is scheduled to open in October.

Haven Gateway Centre is geared toward the many distribution companies in the Inland Empire that are seeking to become more efficient by consolidating operations, said Mike Siam, managing director of Los Angeles-based Investment Development Services Inc., which will manage the project’s development. One building alone will cover more than 600,000 square feet.

The center--which will include five buildings--is being developed by Los Angeles-based Adaya Asset Corp., a private real estate investment company; and Kennedy Associates Real Estate Council, a Seattle-based investment advisory firm.
