Blue Line

It is heartening to read that the Union Station to Pasadena light-rail line has cleared another roadblock (June 8). However, it’s a big mistake to call it the Blue Line. The Blue Line already exists. It runs from downtown Long Beach to the Metro Center at 7th and Flower. It won’t connect with the proposed line to Pasadena.

Just think of all the frustration, aggravation and exasperation that will be inflicted on residents as they try to explain to tourists and visitors how to use the Blue Line to get from Long Beach to Pasadena or vice versa. The new line (provided it’s ever built) should be called the Purple Line, the Ecru Line, anything but the Blue Line.
