A naked man entered a North Hollywood home, stood over a couple as they slept and left the house by jumping through a glass window after the husband awoke and confronted him, police said Friday.

Christopher Aaron Ames, 19, of Laguna, was bleeding from cuts when he was arrested a short time later by officers patrolling the area, said Officer Mike Partain, a Los Angeles Police Department spokesman.

Ames was treated at a local hospital, then taken to Van Nuys Jail, where he was charged with suspicion of residential burglary, Partain said. Bail was set at $30,000.

Shortly before midnight Thursday, Ames allegedly broke into the home in the 13100 block of Albers Street and entered the couple’s bedroom, Partain said.

The husband woke up and saw a completely nude man standing over his wife who was lying next to him in bed, Partain said. The husband confronted the intruder and chased him down a flight of stairs. The suspect jumped through the glass window and ran along Albers Street.

With the help of neighbors, who heard the man screaming as he ran down the street, police arrested the suspect. The man was identified as the same person who broke into the couple’s house, Partain said.

The incident was being investigated Friday by Van Nuys Division detectives, Partain said.
