City officials have finalized a two-year operating budget that will be voted on at Tuesday’s City Council meeting. The proposed $61,530,700 budget for 1999-2000 includes a $170,000 increase in revenue from the state for vehicle license fees and an unexpected $122,000 decrease in spending on contract services with the Brea Police Department.
The decrease occurred because the city projected a bit too much for police costs. The community will have a chance at the meeting to vote on the city’s spending plan and on a seven-year capital improvements project, which includes road improvements and an expansion of City Hall. The meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. in council chambers at 4845 Casa Loma Ave.
