Cool Pans

When you think of KitchenAid, the first thing that comes to mind is mixers. But the company has come out with a sleek new line of high-quality cookware, available in stainless steel or hard-anodized finish. In The Times Test Kitchen, we especially liked the tight fit of the deep-set lid on the saucepan. We also liked the heat-resistant handle, which is curved for easy gripping. We found the cooking to be very even with no burning or hot spots. The size of each pan is engraved on the bottom; no more guessing about pan sizes. KitchenAid cookware carries a lifetime limited warranty.

KitchenAid five-ply stainless steel-clad saucepans, $90 to $240 (seven- and nine-piece sets $400 and $550); anodized saucepans $120 to $270 (seven- to nine-piece sets $470 and $650), from Bloomingdale’s and Macy’s, or call (888) 801-1707.
