Re “Listen to Your Children,” Voices, June 12: With the possible exception of the Grand Inquisitor, no one burns more brightly with the white-hot heat of self-righteousness than an adolescent.

Lindsay Spann, where did you learn the exemplary values with which you pummel all parents? Could it have been from your own parents and others of their hypocritical generation?

Of this you can be sure: You wag your finger at your parents’ generation, your kids will wag theirs at yours. So has it been. So will it ever be. Save your essay, Lindsay. In about 20 years you’ll get a big laugh out of it.
