Culinary Arts

The classes that teach culinary arts at West Valley Occupational Center (“Food for Thought,” June 11) give an excellent career alternative for students.

It would appear that teacher Susan Holtz insists on one of the first lessons a student should learn: that of containing the hair of the cook to avoid it dropping into the food. However, Holtz sets a poor example, as she is with her cook’s hat on the back of her head, and her hair falling loosely around her face. I don’t want to eat in her kitchen.
