Hunting Techniques Were Too Invasive
As I read Denise Hamilton’s “Guerrilla House Hunting” article (May 9) I was aghast at this woman’s tactics.
She stated that each afternoon she would slowly cruise around the two-mile area in which she wanted to live. If she had been cruising my neighborhood, I would have called the police.
She even admitted to stopping alongside folks doing their everyday activities and asking them if their house was for sale or if they knew of one in the area which was for sale.
When this tactic produced no results, Hamilton resorted to watching for work trucks parked outside houses. Upon spotting one, she would march up and inquire from whomever she saw if the house was for sale. She even admits to being “secretly thrilled” by the amount of sleuthing involved.
I’m sure I can’t be the only homeowner out here who thinks her tactics are a total invasion of privacy.
