Matthews Plans to Acquire Oregon Online Retailer

Matthews Studio Equipment Group, Burbank, announced that it has signed a letter of intent to acquire online retailer eMarket Group of Portland, Ore., in a stock-for-stock transaction, valued at approximately $10 million in stock and assumption of debt.

The merger will be implemented through Matthews’ existing Internet subsidiary, ShowbizMart.com.

The eMarket Group is the parent company of eMerchandise.com, a leading entertainment merchandise and memorabilia retailer.

Matthews Studio Group supplies lighting, generators and other equipment to entertainment producers nationwide.
