The local YMCA still has openings for its summer day camp program for children entering kindergarten through seventh grade. Songs, games, sports, cooking, swimming and field trips to such places as the Discovery Science Center and Knott’s Berry Farm are part of each week’s activities. The camp is held at Serrano Elementary School, 17741 Serrano Ave., from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. through Aug. 27. Two-week sessions are $226.
