The Golden Rain Foundation board, which manages Leisure World amenities, unanimously approved an agreement with Burnett/Polygon, the development firm for the Town Centre project. The directors of the three Leisure World resident boards--United and Third Mutuals and the Towers--agreed to grant Burnett/Polygon an easement to build a storm drain across Golden Rain property, which is adjacent to the project site off El Toro Road. The developer will also be allowed to move about 100,000 cubic yards of dirt from the Town Centre site to the Golden Rain site. Golden Rain plans to use the soil for its own proposed project, which includes a multipurpose building, bus transfer station, driving range and tennis courts.

Town Centre--a combination of office and retail space, 140-room hotel and restaurant--will be the subject of zone change and permit proposals at Laguna Woods’ City Council meeting Wednesday.
