Relay to Benefit Cancer Research

SANTA CLARITA — Relay for Life, a 24-hour walk sponsored by the American Cancer Society to raise money for cancer research, will take place Saturday at Canyon High School.
Participants will walk around the school’s track relay-style throughout the day and night. Among the organizations participating will be the Beverly Hills Police Department.
Activities are planned for families taking a break from the track.
The relay will start at 9 a.m. with a Survivor Walk, in which about 100 cancer survivors will walk around the track.
Money raised by the relay will help the society expand services to cancer patients and their families, and offer more educational programs to communities and hospitals, said Susan Heppner, Santa Clarita field services manager.
