The City Council recently passed a new budget of $65.5 million, which marks a slight decrease from last year’s spending. The city’s expenses last year were much higher than expected because of the Little Saigon flag demonstrations and the ruptured Hefley Street water tank. The council also added two police officers and a civilian police services officer to the budget, overriding staff recommendations against adding the positions.
