Paris Mayor Named as Suspect in Scandal

Paris Mayor Jean Tiberi was placed under formal investigation--a step short of being charged--for “complicity in influence trafficking” in connection with a 5-year-old housing scandal in which lucrative contracts were allegedly awarded to companies paying commissions to the conservative party founded by French President Jacques Chirac, the Rally for the Republic.
