While encouraging people to follow the Ten Commandments is commendable, there are the obvious problems of religion and state, and the fact that young children might not understand something like adultery.

The 12 points of the Boy Scout law would be better suited to achieving the desired effect in society; it is more understandable and hopefully less controversial: trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean and reverent.

I’m sure that the Girl Scouts have a similar code.
