Franklin Gets Additional Order From USATalks.Com

Franklin Telecom in Westlake Village said USATalks.Com has placed an additional order for $3.75 million worth of Tempest DVG Systems.

The San Diego-based company is continuing its network expansion at a rapid pace, Franklin officials said. USATalks has advanced funds to Franklin to expedite the acceleration.

The Tempest system, a family of products based around the Tempest Data Voice Gateway, facilitates telephone calls over an Internet or intranet connection.

Peter Buswell, Franklin’s president and chief executive, said the installation process has exceeded his company’s expectations.

The $3.75-million order is exclusively for Tempest hardware. Additional orders will be forthcoming for the ancillary equipment needed for installation, Buswell said.

As part of the expanding USATalks network, the new installations will be maintained by Franklin’s subsidiary, FNet Corp.
