Microsoft has sued nine Southland companies, alleging sales of illegally copied software. Two are accused of selling counterfeit versions of software on disks, four of installing illegal copies of software on hard drives, and three of doing both, Microsoft attorney Ann Murphy said. The company will not know the value of the pirated software until the lawsuits proceed, Murphy said. The suits, filed last week, will be announced today.
