From Times Wire Reports

A man said he felt as if a mysterious spirit had entered his body before he shoved a woman off a platform to her death under a subway train, according to a confession to police. Andrew Goldstein, 29, of the New York City borough of Queens, pleaded not guilty to murder charges in Manhattan Supreme Court. He is accused of shoving Kendra Webdale, 32, into the path of a train at Manhattan’s 23rd Street station on Jan. 3. Goldstein’s lawyer, Harvey Fishbein, said his client has a history of schizophrenia and challenged a ruling that his client is fit to stand trial. A new competence hearing is set for March 23. “When I have the sensation that something is entering me, I get the urge to punch, shove or side kick,” Goldstein said in his confession.
