‘Moonlighting’ in Malibu No Longer
Bruce Willis, who stars in the movie “Breakfast of Champions,” has sold his Malibu home for close to its last asking price of $6.7 million to EarthLink co-founder Kevin O’Donnell.
O’Donnell, an Internet mogul, led a group of investors earlier this year in acquiring a controlling interest in the film company Beacon Communications, which produced the Harrison Ford thriller “Air Force One” (1997). O’Donnell’s stake in EarthLink, one of the three largest Internet service providers in the country, is worth more than $57 million.
Willis, 43, bought the house for about $2 million in 1987, the year he and actress Demi Moore, now 36, were married. It was during this time that he also starred in “Moonlighting.” Willis completely refurbished the house, built in 1948. Willis and Moore announced their separation in June.
Their Malibu home was originally for sale in early 1997 at $8 million. The five-bedroom, 4,800-square-foot house has a two-story living room, two offices, a projection room, an oceanfront pool, a lawn and 70 feet of beach frontage.
Valerie Fitzgerald of Coldwell Banker-Jon Douglas Co., Beverly Hills, represented O’Donnell in his purchase, and Ellen Francisco of the firm’s Malibu West office had the listing, other real estate sources said.

The Baldwin Hills home of the late actress Esther Rolle, who starred in the ‘70s CBS sitcom “Good Times” as the strong-willed but loving mother in a struggling family on Chicago’s South Side, has been listed at $460,000.
Rolle, who died in November at 78, also appeared as the wise-cracking domestic in the earlier CBS sitcom “Maude.”
She won the 1974 NAACP Image Award for best actress in a comedy. In 1990, she was the first woman to receive the NAACP’s Civil Rights Leadership Award for her work in improving the image of blacks.
She had owned her home since 1974. Built in 1955, the house has three bedrooms and four baths in about 2,800 square feet. The home also has a pool and panoramic city views.

John Considine, a veteran character actor and daytime soap-opera star of “Another World,” and his wife, Astrid, have listed their Pacific Palisades home of about 20 years at $725,000.
The actor, about 60, and his wife plan to move to a home they bought recently in Washington state not far from the site of one of the first theaters owned by his impresario grandfather, Alexander Pantages. Considine’s father, John W. Considine Jr., produced the MGM movie “Boys Town” (1938).
Built in 1947, the Palisades home, with landscaped gardens, has three bedrooms and a bonus room in about 2,000 square feet.
