Global Volunteers, a private, nonsectarian development organization based in St. Paul, Minn., invites people to participate in its service programs in the U.S. and overseas. Programs, which can be anything from teaching English to building community facilities, are scheduled throughout the year to China, Romania, Tanzania, Vietnam, Poland, Cook Islands, Ecuador, Ghana, Turkey, Jamaica, Costa Rica, Mexico, Ukraine, Spain, Italy, Ireland, Northern Ireland and Greece. * The Harriett Buhai Center for Family Law in Los Angeles offers family law training for volunteers April 24 at Loyola Law School in Los Angeles. Volunteers must be willing to give 45 hours a year of their time. The training, which costs $80, teaches volunteers how to help people complete and file appropriate papers in family law actions.
