Oregon Reaches Semifinals

A.D. Smith scored 18 points, Terik Brown added 17 and both made key three-point baskets in the deciding stretch as Oregon advanced to the NIT semifinals with a 77-68 victory over Texas Christian on Wednesday night at Fort Worth.

The Ducks (19-11) will play California or Colorado State on Tuesday in New York. Oregon advanced to New York once before, in 1975, but lost in the semifinals.

Lee Nailon had 27 points for TCU (21-11).

Xavier 65, Princeton 58--James Posey, playing despite a painful back, scored 19 points and sparked a second-half surge that carried the Musketeers (24-10) over the Tigers (22-8) at Cincinnati.

The Musketeers overcame injuries and a 16-point deficit to reach the semifinals, their best showing in the NIT since they won the tournament in 1958.
