Laboring to Make a Millennium Baby

Share

Millennium extremists are coming out of the woodwork. This week’s prize goes to Jean Beaulne and Gailey Vollmer, L.A. entrepreneurs who have reserved 12 rooms at the Sahara Hotel in Las Vegas for April 11-15. The rooms will be occupied, gratis, by 12 young couples whom Beaulne and Vollmer will select.

The object of this giveaway? The winning pairs will be obligated to try to conceive “the first millennium baby” while enjoying their free Vegas digs. (Personally, we’d rather do our conceiving at home and enjoy other sports while on the Strip.)

Beaulne and Vollmer say they are trying to line up sponsors and a TV show to celebrate the possible birth of this possible first millennium baby, who possibly may not be born to any of the 12 couples they have selected, but what the heck. It’s millennium madness taking hold, and in our humble opinion, you would have to be mad to apply. The application requests age, height, weight, nationality, religion, education, hobbies, photos and a “handling charge” of $20 for wading through all the stuff you send.
