The City Council recently rejected a Traffic Commission recommendation to install left-turn lanes on Idaho Street at Whittier Boulevard and to prohibit stopping along Idaho north of Whittier. The requests were made to improve traffic flow, but council members agreed that because there were no safety problems at the intersection, there was no need to make the changes.
