Low-income women 40 and older can take advantage of a free breast exam clinic at the Orange Senior Center next month. Those who use the clinic also may make free long-distance phone calls to relatives, urging them to schedule a mammogram.

The free exams and instructions for self-exams are available to women who meet financial guidelines. Single women who live alone may not earn more than $1,315 per month, for example. A woman with a family of four may have an income of only $2,675 per month. The clinic, sponsored by the YWCA, will be held April 1 at the center, 170 S.
