The Planning Commission has scheduled a special meeting for April 7 to reconsider a general plan amendment for the Headlands coastal area. The commission approved changes to the city’s general plan last week that effectively derail the property owner’s plans for the 122-acre coastal area, while at the same time make the city’s development plans feasible.

Co-property owners Headlands Reserve LLC sent a letter to the city last week contesting the validity of the commission’s action, saying that proper notice of the meeting wasn’t given to 3,000 residents who had asked to be informed of hearings regarding the Headlands. City officials said that the meeting was properly noticed, but that they didn’t want to go into litigation over it, opting to hold another public hearing instead. The commission will meet at 7 p.m. in City Council chambers, 33282 Golden Lantern, Suite 210. Information: (949) 248-9890.
