Attacks at School
Re “Harassment Shouldn’t Be Part of School Life,” Commentary, March 22: As a former very shy and runtish student, I was picked on until the 10th grade. Conversely, I know some former students who are gay now but were never picked on. In fact, some of them were the abusers.
Part of the problem is that we are trying to stamp our children with an orientation at a much too early age, giving them more to worry about than just growing up. No child should be terrorized at school for any reason, period! Let’s keep political agendas out of this. Our children deserve more.
