Avoiding Stress of L.A.’s Airport

Re “Nothing LAX About Airport Trip,” March 21.

Columnist Brenda Loree expresses a common lament of Ventura County residents: Traveling to LAX can be a stressful way to begin a vacation. One way to avoid this nightmare is to use an airline that will fly you out of Oxnard using a feeder airline. The last time I did this, I met two fliers who drove from the San Fernando Valley to fly from Oxnard to their connecting flights at LAX--it is actually cheaper than driving and parking at LAX.

Ms. Loree might also consider flying from Burbank. Both Amtrak and Metrolink can take you straight to Burbank airport for less than the cost of one day’s parking at LAX. Instead of struggling to remember which section she parked in, Ms. Loree need only remember how to return to her seat on the train after taking care of business.

I’ll bet she would find her husband in a better mood.
