SEAL BEACH
The Planning Commission on April 7 will review the Bixby Ranch Co.’s application to tear out many of the eucalyptus trees on its northern Seal Beach property to prepare for a retail center’s development. All trees more than 12 inches in diameter and 4 1/2 feet tall will be removed from the entire project area, except from the historic eucalyptus grove along Seal Beach Boulevard and the golf course area. The tree removal is part of an overall development plan previously approved by the City Council. The meeting starts at 7:30 p.m. in Council Chambers, 211 8th St. Information: (562) 431-2527.
