ANAHEIM
The city’s general fund is expected to balloon by $2.7 million in the coming fiscal year, according to the proposed 1999-2000 budget unveiled this week. The growth is due to a $1.7-million increase in sales tax revenue, a $400,000 increase in property tax revenue, and increases in service and permit fees.
Of that additional money, the Community Services Department is slated to receive $1.3 million to maintain the new community center in Anaheim Hills, expand after-school programs and increase library services. The Police Department also will receive more money to help operate the station in Anaheim Hills and purchase computers.
Public hearings on the proposed budget will be held June 8 and June 15 at 2 p.m. in council chambers, 200 S. Anaheim Blvd.
