Pinkerton’s Inc. has been awarded an eight-year contract worth $168 million to provide security for General Motors Corp. in Canada and Mexico, the company said.

The agreement is in addition to the $1.1-billion eight-year contract awarded to the Westlake Village-based security company in November by GM and Delphi Automotive Systems for their U.S. operations.

Pinkerton’s is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Securitas, based in Stockholm, with total annual revenue of $3.5 billion.
