Rainbow Technologies Buys E-Commerce Firm

Irvine-based Rainbow Technologies Inc. on Wednesday said it acquired Systematic Systems Integration, an electronic commerce integration services firm, for $9.5 million.

Rainbow Technologies said Long Beach-based Systematic Systems, which makes and markets encryption technology and software protection products, had revenue of more than $8 million in 1998.

For the year ended Dec. 31, Rainbow Technologies earned $2.5 million, or 21 cents a share, on sales of $109.2 million. Rainbow is an Internet commerce company.
