Show Respect for Women Who Nurse

Share

Vinnie Guadagno-Walker’s letter of May 10 uses words like “self-centered” and “immoral” to describe a mother who is willing to stand up for her legal right to breast-feed her child comfortably and conveniently. Ms. Guadagno-Walker also implies that breast-feeding women should be kept under wraps lest they feed the lustful thoughts of her young nephews.

(I guess it’s OK that those same nephews can wander over to the Borders magazine rack and get several eyefuls of women’s breasts being used for titillation and commodity sales.)

I sincerely hope that by the time Ms. Guadagno-Walker’s nephews are grown, they will have learned a more mature and respectful attitude about women than their aunt seems willing to impart.
