Re “The Jackpot Economy,” Opinion, May 9: As this century’s history has proven its economic theories from Keynes to Marx totally bankrupt, the political left can still be counted on for its hyperbole. How else do you explain David Friedman’s description of a 4.5% increase in the top 1 percent’s share of wealth as “balloon(ing)”? But he is right in one regard. When all else fails, the left will always fall back on class warfare to advance its naive assumptions.
