Visa to Drop Claim: Visa has agreed to drop the line “the preferred lodging card” from its advertising, the National Advertising Review Board said. The line had been challenged by American Express. The NARB, a New York-based watchdog group, said that while Visa provided data to show that it has more cardholders than its competitors, that is not enough evidence to show preference since Visa’s claim also can be interpreted to mean it is preferred by merchants or the lodging industry.
