ORANGE COUNTY EARNINGS

Metalclad Corp.: The Newport Beach insulation company reported a first-quarter net loss of $457,000, or 1 cent a share. That compares with a net loss of $834,000, or 3 cents a share, for the 1998 first quarter, which included a net loss of $349,000 from discontinued operations. Revenue increased 38% to $3.6 million from $2.6 million.
