The City Council on Wednesday will consider the level of police services needed for the city. The council will select from three levels of service from the Orange County Sheriff’s Department--ranging from 24-hour patrol inside and outside the gates to a 6 a.m. to midnight patrol with the remaining hours on an as-needed basis.

City Manager Leslie Keane said additional services such as a part-time investigator and community services--including crime prevention, accident investigation and public relations--will be available at all three levels. “The main difference is cost, with the highest level being $809,000 and the lowest at $674,000,” she said. Keane said all three options represent a significant improvement over the current agreement with the department.

The council meets at 9:30 a.m. in the Leisure World Administration Building Board Room, 23522 Paseo de Valencia. Information: (949) 597-4361.
