Interplay to Make Apple Game Versions

In an effort to extend the shelf life of some of its most popular PC games, Irvine-based Interplay Entertainment Corp. has signed an agreement with a Dallas software firm to make Apple versions of “Baldur’s Gate” and “Descent 3.”

The deal with Graphics Simulations Corp., announced Tuesday, gives the Texas firm the rights to develop both titles and sell them as stand-alone products. Interplay will retain the rights to bundle and distribute these games with Apple Computer Inc.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
