* Re “Is His Whole Life Owned by Harvard?” Commentary, May 24:

Alan Dershowitz writes, “It is no longer possible to give any meaningful content to a phrase as broad and open-ended as ‘conduct unbecoming a dean.’ ” He celebrates this sea change in mores as “beneficial.” Would that Dershowitz’s perceptiveness carried over to his values! For “dean,” let’s substitute president, athlete, minister, high school student, etc. Do we really need to keep wondering about the increase in bizarre, out-of-control behavior in contemporary society?
