Mayor Paul Yost was reelected by a 3-2 vote Monday. Yost was first elected mayor in January to fill former Mayor George Brown’s unexpired term; Brown resigned to become a member of the Coast Community College District board. Both in January and this week, Councilman Shawn Boyd attempted to have Councilwoman Patricia Campbell elected mayor but was outvoted by William Doane, Paul Snow and Yost. Doane was elected mayor pro tem Monday, replacing Campbell, by the same 3-2 margin.
