Fine Feathered Footwear

To create the designer feather sandal look, we purchased a pair of inexpensive, plain leather thongs, bags of feathers in different colors for less than $3 each and wooden beads for about $2 a package.

Step One: Apply craft glue to V-shaped leather straps. Beginning at the toe divider, glue a feather on each of the two straps with the quills pointing toward the center point. Continue the process, overlapping feathers and gluing them in place until the straps are fully covered.

Step Two: Use a needle and thread, preferably hemp, to string beads. Knot at both ends. Apply glue along the horizontal strap of the sandal. Take the finished string of beads and affix to strap, holding the beads in place until the glue dries.
