The Birch Street Promenade embarked last weekend on a three-year marketing strategy designed to promote the downtown business and entertainment area.
A Halloween street party thrown last weekend was the first of several short-term promotional projects designed to help Promenade businesses while a marketing firm puts the finishing touches on a plan to promote the Promenade into the year 2003.
The Downtown Property Owners Assn., comprising Promenade developers, Edwards Cinemas and the city Redevelopment Agency, hired Downtown/Main Street Visions a month ago to help draw customers to businesses in the area, which is still under construction.
