Territory Ahead’s CEO to Step Down

* Bruce Willard, founder, president and chief executive of apparel retailer Territory Ahead, said he plans to resign at the end of the Santa Barbara-based company’s fiscal year in March. He has named two executives to succeed him in the office of the president. Mark Carmody, the company’s chief operating officer and chief financial officer, Matt Cooper, general manager of merchandise, will jointly assume the role when Willard steps down.

Territory Ahead sells private-label sportswear, accessories and luggage in retail locations and through mail order.

* Hilary Schneider, general manager of the Baltimore Sun newspaper, has been named to head the online operations of Times Mirror Co. Schneider, 38, was appointed president and chief executive of Times Mirror Interactive and a vice president of Times Mirror, the media company said.

Times Mirror Interactive, which will be based in Baltimore, will manage World Wide Web operations for the company’s newspapers, magazines and flight-information service Jeppesen Sanderson.

In addition to the Sun, Los Angeles-based Times Mirror publishes the Los Angeles Times, Newsday and other newspapers.
