Nintendo Co. said “Pokemon Yellow” for its hand-held GameBoy device has sold more than 1 million units in the U.S. since it was introduced two weeks ago, making it the fastest-selling video game ever. North American sales of Pokemon games and merchandise are expected to total $1 billion this year. Meanwhile, Nintendo said that shipments of “Pokemon Gold” and “Pokemon Silver” will fall short of the 3 million units previously planned due to delayed chip deliveries caused by the September earthquake in Taiwan. The games are scheduled for release in Japan on Nov. 21 and were not planned for North America this year.
