First American Buys Midwest Title Insurance

First American Financial Corp.’s title insurance unit has acquired Midwest Title Insurance Agency Inc., Poplar Bluff, Mo., from owner Kim Duncan. Financial terms weren’t disclosed.

Santa Ana-based First American Financial said Midwest Title’s property records include all of Butler County, with more than 1 million records dating back more than a century.

Midwest Title will continue to operate under its current name from its Poplar Bluff location with no operational changes. Duncan will stay on with the company as president.
